2,000 year old artifacts found in Jerusalem

Archaeologists have found the oldest artifacts in Jerusalem. Among them is a mikvah. According to the press service of the Ministry of Tourism of Israel.

The excavations were conducted in the area of the Garden of Gethsemane. Researchers have managed to dig up a mikvah. The age of the vessel, which was used in the ritual of ablution, about two thousand years. The mikveh was in use during the time of Christ.

In addition, archaeologists have discovered the ruins of the temple. Presumably, it was erected in the 6th century AD.

Earlier at the foot of the Mount of Olives in Gethsemane the remains of a ritual bath were excavated, dating back to the beginning of our era.
