Launch and Recovery System

In addition to heavy ground traverse equipment dedicated to support Antarctic science projects, a specialized science platform is being constructed to support WISSARD drilling and borehole activities; the Launch And Recovery System (LARS).  This consists of interlocking sleds, which form a rigid deck that will be the base for a crane, winches, the drill support, and a protected environmental enclosure around the borehole.
